I have been buying and selling comics since 1971, when I was 11 years old. So in one way or another, have been involved in comic book trade for over 35 years.
In the late 1980s through early 1990s, after Microsoft made desktop publishing common, many independent comic book companies popped up. The market became flooded, and values dropped quite a bit. Store owners went out of business, and the books were everywhere. An opportunity arose for me in 2001 to buy a comic book store. Instead, I chose to buy the inventory. I felt that everything moves in cycles, and he value of the books would eventually return. (The movies getting better has helped :) A few more opportunities to purchase inventory presented itself, and before long I was actively searching for books.
Around the same time, the advent of ebay presented an opportunity to unload some of the comic books, and it became profitable. We became wileycoyote373 on ebay. Now with tens of thousands of transactions we have grown to our peak. We have added a physical store as an outlet, a website published by Josh Ellis, which provides an alternate platform to buy, sell, and trade comic books. In fact, Josh Ellis came aboard full time and is now our general manager.
However, our goal is to remain a small controled business and provide the top level of customer service and satisfaction. When you try to grow, things fall through the cracks. Now, known as MissouriComics.com, we want to provide the best level of service possible. We want our customers to be satisfied with every transaction. That is our goal.
So come, join us. Buy, sell, trade, and enjoy.
Sincerely,
Josh Cooper
